Highwayman concept or how the Plymouth became the electromobile about how we dug "that Highwayman"

There was a question from the very beginning of the project: how will we realize the Chosen One's car. Were stupid variants such as "screw things
to the nameless Corvega and enjoy» (by the way, Obsidian did almost the
same when creating Fallout: New Vegas) or «restore the broken Atomic V8 and forget about Highwayman». But the most appropriate solution was to ask the model from famous Loft's render for personal use. Unfortunately,
this model itself was lost forever and we had to think anout other variant. It was render of Allout for Fallout wiki. But before to start to doing something, we lost it. Later there was two finished models, and one we "lent". Unfortunately, both were so scrap that scary to remember. And was decided to make only our model, own production and on our own concept. Firstly, we needed to find the prefiguration. Silly exclamations such as those indicated such scrap as a
prototype of Highwayman they were immediately eliminated. The same with statements that the prototype is the car
from movies about Mad Max. Yes,
cylinders, which were in the trunk on old screenshot screenshot, they suggest that idea,
but what else is common of modified Ford Falcon XB GT 1973th and the car with two fins, which are delineated by
lights concerning the hood? Pursuit Special here is not more than another cultic car from another cultic character.
So, we began to search. We couldn't find the official statements of what is "Highwayman". And one day I came across the card, which shows the four-door Dodge Custom Royal
Lancer'57. After brief search another card was found, with two-door Dodge.
Everything seems to be there: two doors, similar body silhouette, two rear fins. Even bumper has the same 6 vertical insertions. But fins. They are fundamentally different in back part.
We had to look for something much more like. But now the circle of searches was significantly narrowed: we needed the car which is the
representative of classic fin style of the late 50th. Cadillacs with their rocket spotlight in the fin have disappeared immediately. Finally, the choice has stopped on the two-door Plymouth Furie'57.
Again, fins didn't fit. They don't fall off as two-door Dodge Custom Royal Lancer or the same Plymouth Fury, but now 1959 year.
And we need more direct bumpers, more brutal. Here I came across the image of the Plymouth Belvedere'57. It was dirty, rusty and buried for 50 years in Tulsa, st. Oklahoma in a time capsule.
So, the basic prototype, from which will go further alteration in Highwayman, was found. Firstly, the cosmetic alteration. We made the original outlines for back bumper, which nobody has ever seen, after that the side positions received the lower tier, which completely closes the car body below the top line of the bumper. This thing also received two vertical ribs, the same as the front bumper, which rendered as a cross between the loft's render and image from the Fallout 2. Outlines of the front around the headlights received more underlined edges, and the cover of the bonnet was narrowed closer to the cab and almost lost the front bend. Now this cover is almost rectangular metal leaf, which slightly curving on the front
edge. The front windshield was slightly corrected, precisely the body at its edges. Mirrors of the rear view had become round, access door to the gas tank disappeared (because the Highwayman isn't use the liquid fuel). The front hatch (ex-radiator hatch) had turned into the grid of squares and lost the manufacturies logo, angle of the body of the bumper near the
headlights had become almost straight. Finally, chrome inscription "Belvedere" was replaced by the "Highwayman".
In fact, form of the Highwayman was ready. Now it's time for the modifications. The first thing is usually put on the car is electric fuel regulator. Bulky thing, so it requires a lot of space inside. Also, it heats well, so part of the engine with additional cooling system has driven out across the cover of the bonnet, forming something like Highwayman in Fallout 2 and on the turbine from Mad Max's car. Heatpipes moves from under the back bumper to the sides of the car right before the back wheels (it wss there in original Highwayman). Then, the supercharger replaced some standard details and externally allocated only extra heatpipes. The next thing is may be improving the speed car characteristics. Thing, which is located above the hood, is replaced on more needed one. Device under the bonnet, but you won't see this.If you won't offend the residents of New Reno car workshop, then you'll receive an access to the most appreciable modification--the cosmetic. All of which will be done is only the increase in the volume the trunk will affect on the gameplay. Also there will be a cover with the logo on the lock. Rust from the body disappears, maybe we even will repaint it. Radiator hatch will become the same as on the red Plumouth Fury, but with Chryslus Motors logo in the middle. Disk pads are also be beautifully decorated with chrome, as the covers. Interior will be replace on more "presentable", and all that needs to have a chrome trimа всё, all will receive that. ights will be replaced, and front, and rear. And of course, copper edging at the license plate.
The last engine modification will be its maximal overclocking. Appearance of visible parts replaces by something similar to what we saw on the Highwayman art for Fallout d20.
Finally, of course, the gravitational plates, precisely anti-gravitational. Most likely we set them on the wheels or instead of ones. Highwayman can't be fly as DeLorean in 2015, but it can soar above the earth. Now it's exactly, nothing can stop this car.
Almost all visible nuances of future
modification reflected on his first concept-art. Of course, we need the "draft" of the car for the most accurate sketch. And of course, it was made:
